- October 20, 2021 In October 2020, I tore my ACL during a practice soccer game. As a 16-year old with a dream, I was upset and disappointed at the prospect of missing out on the potential opportunities ahead of me. During my visit with Dr Cole, he assured me; we got this and we will get you back on the pitch.
I had surgery later that October, followed by 6-months of intense physical therapy at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Oak Brook. I combined my PT with work-outs with a personal trainer. In late April 2021, I was able to join the first team practice at my club, SockersFC Chicago. A moment to remember and celebrate.
In June 2021, I played my first competitive matches at the MLS Next U16 play-offs in Dallas, winning the golden boot for top goal scorer in my age group. In July 2021, I was invited to represent Capelli Sport Team USA U17 at an international tournament in Denmark that we won. And in October 2021, I committed to play D1 soccer at the University of Maryland, starting in the fall of 2023.
I couldn’t be more thankful for the care and support of Dr Cole and his amazing team. It helped me get back from my injury and allows me to continue my dream of pursuing a professional soccer career. A special thank you to Dr Cole, Kyle Pilz and Derrick (PT) for supporting and pushing me.
