There really aren’t any adequate words in the English dictionary to describe how grateful I am.

I'm writing to say THANK YOU. Thank you to Dr. Cole and Kyle for the last 21 years of keeping me going on two "legs!" My major right knee surgery was in 2003, where I had a meniscal transplant and an osteochondral allograft. I was told by ortho doctors in Bloomington that I would never work again as a police officer. By the grace of God, one of the doctors in the ortho office had heard of Dr. Cole and referred me to Rush. I still remember my first visit. Dr. Cole said, "I can fix you. You're not going to have the knee of a 16-year-old, but I can fix you."

Well, I'm not sure how many times you have been inside my right knee since; but I'm still jogging, working out, riding motocross and snowmobiles, and doing mostly anything I want to do. In Fall 2009, I ran the Chicago Marathon with my daughter. And to this day, I'm still jogging 15-20 miles a week.

After serving the city for 28 years, I'm retiring from the police department on June 6th. I would NEVER have been able to do it without your help and support. I am forever grateful for your staff. Don't know how long or how many more miles I have on the ole knee, but you SAVED MY CAREER. I pretty much owe your team much more than I could ever repay. There really aren’t any adequate words in the English dictionary to describe how grateful I am.

Thank you Kyle! And thank you Dr. Cole!
